WCMW Block Piping Calibration Block (Wide Coverage Multiple Width)

The UCOMAX WCMW Block (Wide Coverage Multiple Width) is a custom-designed piping calibration block developed for ultrasonic DAC/TCG calibrations on a broad range of ASME pipe sizes. Each block maintains a consistent outside diameter (OD) while providing multiple stepped thicknesses on the inside diameter (ID) to cover different pipe schedules in one compact design. By placing the steps on the ID, the block maximizes wedge curvature — fully aligned with ASME T-432.2 requirements for phased array inspections introduced in 2017. Careful design of block length, reflector placement, and tapered ends eliminates echo conflicts and termination noise — helping operators establish smooth, uninterrupted DAC/TCG curves without the hassle of “split-DAC” effects.
